Answers for companies and curious visitors

Frequently asked questions about ReplyRank

A plain-language guide to what gets counted, how companies can control their profiles, and why every benchmark starts with one clean first touch.

What gets counted as a reply?

#

The public counter counts matched inbound messages classified as human_reply, auto_reply, opt_out, redirect, or bounce. Human replies are the separate signal used for reply-rate rankings; page views and votes never enter the count.

How does opt-out work?

#

A company representative verifies a work email, then choosing opt out suppresses all known inboxes for that company and stops further contact. Requests are handled within 24 hours.

What is the difference between claiming and redirecting?

#

Claiming verifies that you represent the company and gives you control of its public profile. Redirecting replaces the contacted inbox for future outreach while suppressing the old address. Public /c/:slug profiles and the leaderboard lead into this flow.

How are variants A–F chosen?

#

Each eligible inbox receives a weighted choice from the active A/B engine, currently using variants A through F. The selected letter and weight snapshot are recorded with the send, and public benchmarks compare human reply rates as data accumulates.

Why does only one email ever go out?

#

ReplyRank sends one clean first-touch message to each selected public inbox—support@, help@, contact@, or partnerships@—and never runs a pitch or follow-up sequence. That keeps the benchmark about a single comparable first touch.
